Providing care at SACIC & living with COVID-19 in our community

Tuesday 23 November will mark the opening of SA borders and a move toward living with COVID-19 in our community.

During this time, the wellbeing of you (and your family) and our staff (and their families) is SACIC’s focus as we work together to ensure SACIC can continue to provide care safely to all of our clients and support to our community.

To achieve this, SACIC requires you (and your support person, if required) to:

  • Provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination on arrival
  • Wear a mask at all times, including in public areas and treatment rooms (unless proof of exemption is provided)
  • Complete a COVID-Safe check in on arrival via the myGov app or register your details at Reception
  • Sanitise your hands on entry
  • Maintain a physical distance of at least 1.5m
  • Arrive at the time of your appointment to minimize time spent in waiting areas

Please arrive at the time of your appointment, accompanied by no more than one support person, to minimise the number of people in waiting areas and treatment rooms at all times. Until further notice, children under 12 years of age are not permitted to attend your appointment with you. If you are unvaccinated, unwell, or recently re-entered SA, please contact us to discuss how we can continue to provide care (08) 8379 4500 or contact@sacic.com.au

In accordance with the latest recommendations from SA Health, SACIC staff are required to wear a mask at all times in appointments.

In an effort to support communication, your Audiologist will use NALscribe in your appointment. NALscribe is an iPad app, developed by the National Acoustic Laboratories (NAL). NALscribe quickly and continuously transcribes speech into large, easy-to-read text on an iPad screen in real time to make communication easier and to reduce the impact of mask wearing and physical distancing.

It is anticipated the coming weeks will be challenging for all of us. Please know the SACIC team care about you and your hearing and remain committed to providing care in a safe, warm, understanding and friendly environment to help you ‘hear better, live better’.

If you have any concerns or wish to clarify any of the above information, please do not hesitate to contact us on (08) 8379 4500 or contact@sacic.com.au
